SERIOUS ADVERSE EFFECTS - in Baltimore this May

My play - Serious Adverse Effects - is coming to Baltimore with Rapid Lemon Productions.

The play unfolds as the nation reels from a mysterious disease that disproportionally impacts black women, and follows one scientist’s obsession with an unconventional treatment, consequences be damned.

I like the questions it asks about science, reconciliation and forgiveness. The play was born at the National Black Theatre. (It was a few seasons before COVID-19; I promise you I didn’t know the pandemic was coming.)

Anyway, I’ve been exploring production opportunities for a good while, and after several fits and starts with a couple other theaters, the play finally landed with Rapid Lemon in B’More last year.

The company will offer virtual and live attendance options.

As of right now, I’m not in a position to travel for opening night, and that bums me out!

This will be the first full-length of mine going into production without me physically present.

I’m very excited about it though.   Much gratitude to Noah Silas, Max Garner and the whole team! I’ll be shouting all of them out soon soon soon!
