Water Riot Debut -Quick Recap
I’m so proud, inspired, and excited about my newest music-theatre endeavor: WATER RIOT IN BETA: A CYBER PUNK ROCK OPERA.
On September 16, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago presented the debut performance to a sold-out audience.
The music is anchoring a theatrical experience that invites audiences to think and feel their way through some challenging issues – social movements, personal responsibility, and environmental justice.
The talent that gathered around this work-in-progress really brought their best.
The MCA demonstrated a significant commitment to this project, from an exploratory residency in late 2020 through this year’s commission and festival presentation. There’s a lot of work to do from here, but we’ve got such a strong foundation.
Looking forward, I’ll be on the hunt for more production and development opportunities – particularly as we explore movement / choreography and incorporate set design and projection.
Can’t Wait to WATER RIOT with you!!
